The DIS experience
At Deira International School, we are deeply committed to the holistic development of our students, ensuring that their experiences within school are rich, varied, and impactful. We believe that student success goes beyond academics, and this is why we foster strong partnerships with students, staff and the wider community. The heart of our school’s culture is the house system, which promotes a sense of belonging, every student belongs to one of our four houses. Throughout the year, students earn points for themselves and their house during lessons, house competitions, and special assemblies, contributing to our school spirit. Our extracurricular activities are wide-ranging and diverse, and we encourage every student to develop their ‘CASport’ allowing every student the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and pursue passions beyond the classroom.
Our CAS program (Creativity, Activity, Service) runs right through the schools and students are encouraged to engage with the three stands helping them become responsible, global citizens. Our students have ample opportunities to participate in both national and international school trips, which enrich their learning and support their CAS work. From ski trips to Japan to service projects in Kenya, these trips broaden students’ perspectives and allow them to make meaningful contributions on a global scale.
