School Trips, Events and Activities
All school trips, events and activities at DIS are planned and delivered in accordance with KHDA guidelines.
For international trips, DIS follows KHDA requirements relating to:

- Clear communication with parents, including itineraries and contact details

Since opening its doors in 2005, Deira International School has been part of Dubai’s inspection framework, evolving alongside the city’s education landscape. Like many new schools, DIS began its journey at the early stages of the KHDA inspection ladder. Over time, year-on-year improvement was recorded as the school strengthened teaching, leadership, systems and student outcomes. During the 2010s, as enrolment grew and the curriculum deepened through IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate pathways, inspection outcomes reflected steady progress across key performance areas. This period marked an important phase of consolidation and development for the school. Following continued improvement and refinement, DIS progressed to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the KHDA, recognising high standards across education quality, student wellbeing, leadership and governance. This rating reflects sustained performance rather than a single inspection outcome. Today, after two decades of continuous development, DIS stands as a KHDA-rated Outstanding school, with its quality further confirmed in 2025 by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection, which also rated the school Outstanding in every category. |
