Designed to Prepare Young People for Life
Both pathways are well established and supported by experienced staff, strong academic guidance and clear expectations.

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The IB Diploma Programme is a demanding and balanced academic pathway designed for students who enjoy breadth of study and academic challenge. Students study six subjects across a range of disciplines, ensuring both depth and balance, alongside the three core elements:
| The IBDP develops strong academic skills, time management and independent learning habits. |
It is recognised by universities worldwide and prepares students well for a wide range of higher education pathways.
IB Career-related Programme (IBCP)
The IB Career-related Programme offers a flexible pathway for students who wish to combine academic study with a clear career focus.
Alongside selected IB Diploma subjects, students complete:
- A career-related study, aligned with future ambitions
- The IB Core, including personal and professional skills, language development, service learning and reflective project work
The IBCP is designed to support students who thrive in applied, practical learning environments while still maintaining strong academic foundations. It prepares students for further study, training or direct entry into the workplace, depending on their goals.

Academic Guidance and Pathways
Choosing the right IB pathway is an important decision. | Students at DIS are supported through careful guidance, conversations with teachers and academic counselling to ensure choices reflect strengths, interests and long-term aspirations. Throughout their IB studies, students are encouraged to develop independence, resilience and a strong sense of responsibility for their learning. Teaching focuses on depth of understanding, critical thinking and application of knowledge, helping students grow into confident, capable learners. |
