Indoor and Outdoor Activities

Teachers design activities both indoors and outdoors across 17 areas of learning, giving each child opportunities to explore, investigate and lead their own learning. The EYFS framework supports development across core domains such as communication and language, early literacy, numeracy, physical skills and personal, social and emotional development.

Within this stage, learning is not a series of isolated subjects but instead flows through carefully planned experiences that build foundational skills in all areas.

Children in FS1 and FS2 experience a curriculum that is play-based and rooted in real-life contexts.

Each activity is designed to spark curiosity and challenge thinking, while teachers constantly monitor progress to identify the next steps for every child.

Partnerships with Families

A key emphasis in Foundation is on partnerships with families. Using the Tapestry app, parents and teachers document children’s learning together through photos, videos and observations. This two-way communication allows teachers to understand each child’s home experiences and interests, and enables children to share their personal stories and family life with their class.
