We warmly invite DIS Primary School parents to attend 'Student Led Conference' on Tuesday 6th March. Student Led Conferences are an opportunity for students to take a role in reporting to their parents on their achievement and progress at school. Parents will also have an opportunity to have a 10 minute Parent-Teacher Conference with your child's 'class teacher'. Please book an appointment through our parent portal https://vle.disdubai.ae Last week we held a 'Student Led Conference' in our Secondary School. Students in Year 7, 8 & 9 walked their parents around the school and visited each of their subjects. Students showed the work that they have been doing and discussed their achievements and progress at school. Teachers were on hand to speak to parents as required to help explain the curriculum, assessment, and any other questions they had. The Y10 & IB1 Study Skills sessions were aimed at giving students' strategies to approach studying. Students gained insight into how they can have an effective revision programme, how to revise, and how they can prepare for examinations. They also took part in a Stress Relief session and Wellbeing session to remind them of the importance of their overall welfare when studying. Y11 & IB2s were learning more about their Post 16 options and where these will lead them in the future. "Forever Learning, Forever Achieving" DIS
Dear Parents, We would like to thank you all for your valuable contribution during the inspection process earlier this month. I would like to share with you a presentation that has been presented to the inspectors demonstrating how innovative we are. It made me very proud to be part of DIS and know we are living up to our vision. Innovation at DIS We are proud of a very high standard relationship and communication that we have established with you throughout many years and would like to thank you all for your continuing support. With kind regards, Jeff Smith Director of DIS
We celebrate International Day every year. This year's event was held on 3rd February. On behalf of the teachers and students of DIS, we woudl like to thank our school community for the support and participation in this truly international event. There was an amazing variety of stalls and performances presented on the day for students and parents to enjoy. The day was a wonderful opportunity for families from more than 80 different nationalities represented in the school to come together and celebrate our international diversity, that we are very proud of! Children were saying 'they traveled the world' together with their families just in one day. You may find our selection of pictures on the social media of DIS. Please look for Deira International School FaceBook page, Instagram and Twitter pages. With million of thanks, International Day Committee
Welcome to The DIS Daily, our school newspaper, written for the students by the students! In this newspaper, you can expect to find out about events happening in and out of school, fun facts, puzzles and games and more!
The IB Diploma results for the 2016-2017 academic year are outstanding, especially considering our inclusive mixed-ability intake into the school. The IGCSE results for the 2016-2017 academic year are also very impressive, considering that 10% of our students are registered and identified with special educational needs.
Registration for new students is open throughout the year. The application has to be submitted online including some documentation that should be emailed to the school's Registrar or handed in at the Admissions Office.
