At DIS, we nurture students learning in creative and innovative ways through technology, child-lead learning and critical thinking. This ensures all students develop their personal curiosity and understanding of global issues and contexts. DIS mirror the International Baccalaureate aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

At DIS, Humanities is taught in meaningful contexts where students can gain a holistic understanding of Geography and History through real-life links relevant to their immediate environment, as well as globally. The Moral Education curriculum seeks to nurture the students to develop universal values, which enables them to interact and connect with people in an international setting. The focus on celebrating our cultural difference here at DIS is one that can seek to empower individuals; enabling them to gain different perspectives.

In turn, this will allow the development of respectful global citizens with the ability to take on the world. The development of a mutual understanding of people’s difference, as well as the ability to respect those differences, can aid our students in existing in a peaceful and harmonious society. During STEM sessions, children are taught to use their thinking skills to overcome problems related to the real world, these can be linked to an array of global issue such as environmental factors and construction.
