Additionally, applicants will need to have the following:
Trained Teacher Certification (PGCE or similar)
Two years of relevant teaching experience
A degree or Masters in the subject area to be taught
Experience in the National Curriculum of England and Wales is an advantage
Experience with IGCSE or/and IBDP in the upper school is an advantage
Experience overseas and in an international curriculum is an advantage throughout the school, but not essential.

Islamic Studies Teacher Role
Deira International School has the following Islamic Studies teacher job opening in Primary School beginning September 2017:
Applications invited from teachers of Islamic Studies to teach Primary School (Year 1 to Year 6). Candidates must hold a degree in Islamic Studies and teacher approval from the UAE Ministry of Education (if your previous employment was within the UAE), good communication skills and minimum two years of teaching experience in their field, preferably in an international school setting in the UAE.

Candidate must be experienced in dealing with Early Years children, possess good spoken English, and have excellent communication and people skills. The successful applicant will be required to assist with supervision and support of student’s learning.
Candidate must have some experience of working with Early Years children with special needs and should be able to adapt a curriculum to cater for individualized pupil learning.

Arabic Teacher Assistant
Applications invited for the position of English speaking Arabic Teacher Assistant to start immediately in Deira International School (DIS) Secondary section every school day from 8 am to 3 pm. Candidate must be native Arabic speaker, experienced in dealing with children, possess good spoken English, excellent communication and people skills. Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Ability to support students in Arabic classes for grades 6 to IB is an advantage. Candidate will be required to assist the teacher in classroom organization, supervision and support of students’ learning, organization of homework folders, diaries and reading books, parent communication and all other academic activities required by the Learning Pathways department.
