Deira International School is vibrant and oversubscribed school due to its popular location, outstanding facilities and spiralling English and IBDP curriculum. We particularly like to employ teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching, are flexible and team players, have strengths to share beyond their professional skills, and are dedicated to contributing to internationalism and multiculturalism.  We currently have more than 80 student nationalities and 15 teacher nationalities in the school.
Additionally, applicants will need to have the following:

  • Trained Teacher Certification (PGCE or similar)

  • Two  years of relevant teaching experience

  • A degree or Masters in the subject area to be taught

  • Experience in the National Curriculum of England and Wales is an advantage

  • Experience with IGCSE or/and IBDP in the upper school is an advantage

  • Experience overseas and in an international curriculum is an advantage throughout the school, but not essential.

Primary School Job Description: 

Islamic Studies Teacher Role

Deira International School has the following Islamic Studies teacher job opening in Primary School beginning September 2017:

Applications invited from teachers of Islamic Studies to teach Primary School (Year 1 to Year 6). Candidates must hold a degree in Islamic Studies and teacher approval from the UAE Ministry of Education (if your previous employment was within the UAE), good communication skills and minimum two years of teaching experience in their field, preferably in an international school setting in the UAE.

Early Years Shadow Teacher Role

Applications are invited for the position of Shadow teacher to start in Term 3 of 2016-2017 school year in Deira International School Primary section every school day from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. 

Candidate must be experienced in dealing with Early Years children, possess good spoken English, and have excellent communication and people skills.  The successful applicant will be required to assist with supervision and support of student’s learning.

Candidate must have some experience of working with Early Years children with special needs and should be able to adapt a curriculum to cater for individualized pupil learning.

Secondary School Teaching Roles

Arabic Teacher Assistant

 Applications invited for the position of English speaking Arabic Teacher Assistant to start immediately in Deira International School (DIS) Secondary section every school day from 8 am to 3 pm.  Candidate must be native Arabic speaker, experienced in dealing with children, possess good spoken English, excellent communication and people skills. Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Ability to support students in Arabic classes for grades 6 to IB is an advantage. Candidate will be required to assist the teacher in classroom organization, supervision and support of students’ learning, organization of homework folders, diaries and reading books, parent communication and all other academic activities required by the Learning Pathways department.

Science Lab Technician

We invite applications for the position of Science Lab Technician for employment beginning September 2017.  Candidate must hold a Degree in Laboratory Technician course with two to three years’ experience in similar position preferably in an international school setting.  Candidate should be trained in all laboratory safety aspects.  Knowledge of data loggers and their use would be added advantage.

Bus Assistant Role

Applications invited for the position of Bus Assistant to start in September 2017 on full time basis at Deira International School, Dubai Festival City.  The ideal candidate will take care of students’ welfare and safety on all school trips in compliance with all RTA and school related transportation rules. Candidate must possess good spoken English, computer literacy skills, excellent communication and people skills.  Proven ability to work with children is a must.  Previous school bus assistant work experience is a plus.
